Where like minded students gather after school

3 components of a healthy development of a child include cognitive, emotional and social development. Cognitive abilities such as thinking, memory, attention, reasoning, and planning allow students to learn, solve problems, exercise judgment, and understand their surroundings. Language is also an important part of a their cognitive development. Emotional development is essential for children to learn how to express themselves, recognize and control their emotions, and decipher the emotions of others. For children to build relationships and live with others in society, their social development is key. They need social skills to make friends, get along with others, and be part of a team which students would encounter on a day to day basis in and out of the classroom.

Key pillars of our after school programme

Emotional development

Through stories, a child explores different emotions and scenarios, helping him/her understand and empathize with others. This emotional literacy is crucial for developing healthy relationships and social skills. By discussing characters' feelings and actions, a child is able to learn to recognize and articulate his/her own emotions.

Social development

Various types of games , role plays reinforces a child's comfort level with his/her own individuality and builds healthy relationships with his/her peers. Stronger self esteem and better language skills ultimately leads to a better ability to resolve differences with peers. A positive attitude ultimately leads to better relationships with others and higher levels of self confidence.

Physical development & Mindfulness

Physical activity and mindfulness practices improves a child's concentration, memory and proper cognitive development for academic tasks.

It also increases compassion by self-awareness as well as fosters self-esteem and self-love.

Creativity

Engaging with Lego and tackling real-world challenges and situations a child may find himself/ herself in on a day to day basis fosters inventive solutions, creative problem-solving, persistence and adaptability. These skills are invaluable in all areas of life, as it prepares each child to face and overcome obstacles with confidence and creativity.
